"Strictly Dance Fever":
Strictly Dance Fever is back for Series 2 - commencing on Saturday April 1st 2006.
Graham Norton will once again host the series, where contestants battle it out to make it into the top 10 pairs.
All the contestants are amateurs and all work in pairs. The public have to vote during the first 3
Saturday night shows titled "Strictly Dance Fever - The Auditions".
Once the top 10 contestants are picked, they will live and work together, learning new dances each week,
ready to perform live on the remaining Saturday night shows.
Judging of the top 10 will take the same format as "SCD" - the judges vote makes up 50% of the overall score,
& the public phone in makes the remaining 50%. Each week the contestants with the lowest points will leave.
There will one again be "extra" shows, with behind the scenes gossip etc. The Saturday night BBC3 host is to be June Sarpong.

Once a principal dancer in the Royal Ballet and now a renowned choreographer.

The Dances:
Charleston
A classic 1920's jazz era dance performed by the "flappers". Twisting feet and high energy arm movements abound.
The Hustle
A 70's dance, originating in the USA. Danced to Disco music, with lots of tricky arm movements & almost continuous twirling for the lady.
Jitterbug
A more gentle form of the Lindyhop, with a flirty edge. Danced more upright, with less lifts & floor work.
Lambada
A popular 'phase dance' in the early 90's, originating in Brazil, known as 'The Forbidden Dance'. A very sexy, close, Latin style dance with accentuated hip movements.
Lindyhop
Derived from the Charleston in the 20's, a phenomenally fast dance where couples should 'pack the dance with choreography' & enjoy themselves.
Milonga
An early form of Tango, preformed to faste music it is a happy joyous and playful dance, with a bouncy style, swinging in the shoulders and hips.
Rock 'n' Roll
A classic 50's Jitterbug/Jive style dance, with lots of energy & lifts, spins, twirls.
Salsa
A "saucy" dance, sensuous and fluid, with the dancers moving around each other and the floor in circular movements. Drops and lifts are permitted.
American Smooth
Think classic Ballroom, but with a difference. The dancers only need to be in hold for 40% of the dance, allowing for lifts, spins, shuffles and turns in the routines.
Argentine Tango
The most passionate dance of the 10. Originating from the brothels of Buenos Ayres... the story of a man's control & a woman's seductiveness. Watch out for close holds & intertwining, fast leg movements from the lady.
